Get in touch

PawMastery is a small operation — one person, one channel, and a site built alongside it. Messages are read and answered personally, usually within a few days.

What we can help with

  • Corrections. If you find a factual error in a guide, tell us. We correct mistakes rather than quietly removing them.
  • Press and media. We are happy to comment on dog training and behavior topics, and to point journalists to the research behind anything we have published.
  • Using our tools. Rescues, shelters, veterinary practices and trainers are welcome to link to or share our free calculators. No permission needed, though we like hearing about it.
  • Collaboration. Channel and content partnerships.

What we cannot help with

We cannot give individual behavior advice by email, and we will not try.

Assessing a dog properly means seeing it, knowing its medical history, and watching how it responds — none of which is possible over a message. Advice given without that is guesswork, and guesswork about aggression or fear can get someone hurt.

If you are dealing with something specific, the right first step is your veterinarian, who can rule out pain and refer you to a qualified behavior professional. Around a third of dogs referred for behavior work have a painful condition, and no amount of training resolves that.

Our guide to choosing a dog trainer explains what credentials mean and what questions to ask, since the field is unregulated in most countries.

Before you email

Two things save time. If your question is about a specific behavior, check whether one of the guides already covers it, since the written answer is longer and better sourced than anything we can type into a reply. And if the behavior appeared suddenly in an adult dog, book a veterinary appointment first rather than waiting on us.

Response times

Messages are read personally and usually answered within a few days. Corrections get priority. We do not use an autoresponder, so if you have not heard back in a week the message did not arrive and it is worth resending.
