How we choose what to recommend
This is the part that matters more than the disclosure itself.
- The criteria come first. Each article explains what to look for — the specification, the fit, the safety test — so the guidance is useful whether or not you buy anything we link to.
- We will not recommend equipment that contradicts our training approach. No prong collars, no shock collars, no retractable leads for training, no fabric muzzles that prevent panting. Those would earn commission and we do not link to them.
- We state the drawbacks. Where a product we link to oversells itself, we say so in the same box.
- We are not paid for reviews. No brand has paid for placement or a positive assessment on this site.
What we have and have not used
We do not claim to have personally tested every product linked from this site. Where a recommendation is based on published criteria rather than our own use, the article says what those criteria are. Where we have used something ourselves, we say so specifically.
We think that is more honest than a blanket claim to have tested everything.
